Take the lights out and check the adjusters are ok. They twist 90 degrees to unlock from the light housing then the ball joints unhook from the lens frames.

I removed both headlights and added new bulbs then screwed the headlights back in. However now one side is high one side is low and in general the light beam pattern is not very wide or spread out.
There should be thumb or torque screws, or something for you to turn. There is usually 2, 1 for the vertical and 1 for the horiz. You just have to find em, I could not fing anything googled. Switch on your dipped lights, enter the menu as suggested by fordever: Information display: Vehicle/Lighting/Adaptive Headlamps/Traffic Setup/Right or Left Hand Traffic. and toggle between Right or Left Hand Traffic and you will see the change. It works a treat and with no hassle. A major plus for the MK5. The headlight beam level is adjusted by an electric servo motor inside each of the headlights. According to the position of the adjustment knob of the headlight switch the electric servo motors will adjust the beam to the corresponding level. Just position the car in front of a wall with the lights on.You will see a pale nearly white area little bigger than a dime about an inch and a half down. At the center of that is the screw you need to turn to raise and lower the lights. Your owner's manual should confirm this, but I beleive it is counter clockwise to lower and the opposite to raise.
